Cookie Policy
Effective date:
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Grale (grale.app) uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. Grale is operated by UV Foundry LLC.
For questions, email hello@grale.app.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help the site remember information about your visit — like whether you’re logged in — so you don’t have to re-enter it every time. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
2. Cookies We Use
Session & Authentication
These cookies are required for the service to function. They keep you logged in and maintain your session state. You cannot opt out of these cookies while using the service.
| Cookie | Provider |
|---|---|
| sb-access-token | Supabase |
| sb-refresh-token | Supabase |
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) helps us understand how visitors use Grale — which pages are popular, how users navigate the site, and where we can improve. The data is aggregated and anonymised; we cannot identify individual users from GA4 data.
| Cookie | Purpose |
|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes unique users; used to calculate visitor, session, and campaign data |
| _ga_* | Persists session state for Google Analytics 4 |
| _gid | Distinguishes users within a 24-hour session |
| _gat | Throttles request rate to Google Analytics |
Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays and generates heatmaps to show us how users interact with pages. This helps us identify usability issues and improve the interface. Clarity does not track personally identifiable information.
| Cookie | Purpose |
|---|---|
| _clsk | Connects multiple page views into a single Clarity session recording |
| _clck | Persists the Clarity user ID and session data across pages |
| CLID | Stores the first-time Clarity saw this user on this device |
| MUID | Identifies unique web browsers visiting Microsoft sites (used by Clarity & Bing) |
3. Cookies We Do Not Use
—No advertising or targeting cookies. We do not place cookies for behavioural advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.
—No social media cookies. We do not embed social-media tracking pixels from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or similar platforms.
—We do not sell data. Cookie data is used solely to operate and improve Grale; it is never sold to third parties.
4. How to Control Cookies
You have several options for controlling cookies. Note that disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use Grale’s core features, but disabling session cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.
Browser Settings
All major browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their privacy or security settings. Find your browser’s cookie controls:
- Chrome:chrome://settings/cookies
- Firefox:about:preferences#privacy
- Safari:Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge:edge://settings/privacy
Opt Out of Google Analytics
Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA4 from collecting data on all websites you visit.
Opt Out of Microsoft Clarity
You can opt out of Clarity session recording by visiting Microsoft’s Privacy Dashboard or by enabling the “Do Not Track” signal in your browser.
Do Not Track
Grale respects browser-level Do Not Track (DNT) signals where technically feasible. Microsoft Clarity honours DNT. Google Analytics does not natively honour DNT; use the opt-out add-on above for full GA4 opt-out.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Grale after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
